“My life was really chaotic, drugs, alcohol, addiction, theft, and homelessness. Inevitably this chaotic lifestyle led me to prison. During which time I studied, as well as having time to reflect on my future.
After my release from prison I started to volunteer at a service user council, which led me to becoming the representative for HMP Brixton drug recovery wing. I was invited to a conference on service user involvement. I heard about Suited & Booted from another volunteer who had recently been helped by Suited & Booted. Within a couple of days I met Maria Lenn. The welcome was very warm and the service provided was much appreciated. I was fitted with a beautiful suit, shirt, tie, and cufflinks. That felt so good, I looked very smart. That feeling gave me a great deal of confidence.
I now work for three different organisations, as well as sitting on several steering groups. If it was not for Suited & Booted, I do not think that my life would have taken this path so easily.
I now work with vulnerable and disadvantaged clients, some of which I have referred to Suited & Booted. They too have gone on to find employment.
Maria and her staff do a wonderful job helping less fortunate people. I thank them very much for their time invested in me. My life is good now.”
